PSC Sets Intervention Deadline in Spire Missouri Case

JEFFERSON CITY---Spire Missouri, Inc. (Spire) has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission requesting a variance from the Resale Provision of its Tariff Rules and Regulations. The variance would be limited to a specific situation in the newly constructed terminal at Kansas City International Airport (KCI).

According to the application, Spire seeks a variance from its Tariff Rules and Regulations which state the following: “The gas supplied to a customer will be for the use of the customer only and shall not be re-metered or sub-metered for resale to another or others, except for gas supplied for use as a vehicular fuel.” The application states that KCI submetering natural gas for resale to vendors within the terminal is not allowed under the Company’s current Rules and Regulations. “As KCI has the infrastructure in place to track total usage and the usage by each individual concessionaire and does not seek to resell natural gas for a profit,” the application states, “Spire Missouri seeks a variance from the above Resale Provision of its Tariff Rules and Regulations”.

Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than June 21, 2023, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov.

Individual citizens wishing to comment should contact either the Office of the Public Counsel (Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, Suite 650, P.O. The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency that represents the general public in matters before the Commission.

Spire provides natural gas service to approximately 1.19 million natural gas customers in Missouri.
