JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.---The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) is announcing a virtual local public hearing on
April 1, 2025, at
Noon CDT to receive customer comments in a request from Evergy Missouri West, Inc. and Evergy Missouri Metro. Inc. (Evergy) for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CCN) for the construction of three new natural gas electric generating plants.
Evergy is requesting a CCN for two combined-cycle generating turbine plants located in Sumner and Reno counties, Kan., and one simple-cycle generating turbine plant in Nodaway County, Mo.
The PSC has scheduled a virtual local public hearing that begins with an informal question-and-answer session where the public may ask questions of PSC Staff, Evergy and the Office of the Public Counsel. The question-and-answer session will be followed by an on-the-record hearing where members of the public may offer testimony to a regulatory law judge and PSC Commissioners.
