On March 14, 2022, RDE filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking authority to sell its water system assets to the City of Nixa. With approval of the sale, RDE is requesting cancellation of its certificate of service authority and its tariff, as it would no longer be providing water service in the state.

According to the application, RDE provides water service to approximately 1,232 residential customers and 66 commercial customers through 1,138 service connections in Christian County.
