PSC To Hold Local Public Hearing In Roy-L Utilities Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing in High Hill, Missouri on April 24, 2014, to receive public comment on water and sewer rate cases filed by Roy-L Utilities, Inc.  The local public hearing schedule appears below.
April 24—High Hill.  High Hill City Office Building, 50 Hickory Drive.  A question and answer session will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the taking of sworn testimony from customers to follow.  This local public hearing will be held in a facility that meets the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Any person who needs additional accommodations to participate in the hearing should call the PSC’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the local public hearing.
On June 26, 2013, Roy-L Utilities, Inc. filed rate cases with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $8,072 and annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $10,378.  Roy-L Utilities, Inc. serves approximately 61 water customers and 57 sewer customers in Montgomery County near High Hill, Missouri. 
Under the small rate case process, the PSC Staff audits the books and records of the company.  After the audit, the PSC Staff presents its findings as well as its initial recommendation for resolution of the rate requests to the Office of the Public Counsel and the company.  Based upon discussions between the PSC Staff, the Office of the Public Counsel and the company, the PSC Staff and the company reached an agreement in the rate cases.  The Office of the Public Counsel has not joined in the agreement.  The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency which represents the general public in cases before the Commission.
Under the agreement, annual water operating revenues would increase by approximately $2,243 and annual sewer operating revenues would increase by approximately $8,609.  The current monthly rate for residential customers and those proposed under the agreement appear below.
