PSC Sets Intervention Deadline in
Missouri-American Water Company Sewer Case

JEFFERSON CITY---Missouri-American Water Company (MAWC) has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) to install, own, operate and maintain a sewer system in Boone County. MAWC seeks a CCN to provide sewer service in and around Hallsville, Missouri and also requests approval to acquire the City of Hallsville sewer system.

According to the application, MAWC proposes to provide sewer service under rates currently charged by Hallsville until such time as the rates are modified according to law. Current sewer rates are $19.35 for the first 1,000 gallons; $5.00 for every 1,000 gallons above the initial 1,000 gallons.

Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than August 24, 2020, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102-0360, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov.

MAWC provides water service to approximately 470,000 customers in Missouri. It also provides sewer service to approximately 15,000 customers in the state.
