PSC Sets Intervention Deadline in
Missouri-American Water Company Cases

JEFFERSON CITY---Missouri-American Water Company (MAWC) has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) to install, own, acquire, operate and maintain a water and sewer system in and around the City of Orrick, Missouri in Ray County.

According to the application, MAWC proposes to purchase substantially all of the water and sewer assets of the currently unregulated systems of Orrick, and requests permission, approval and a CCN to own, acquire, construct, operate, manage and maintain the water and sewer systems in an area in and around Orrick, Missouri. To provide service to the proposed area, MAWC states it will purchase the water and sewer systems from Orrick. Orrick serves approximately 335 water and sewer accounts. MAWC proposes to adopt the water and sewer rates that Orrick charges its customers at the time of closing, until such time as the rates are modified according to law.

Applications to intervene and participate in these cases must be filed no later than September 16, 2021, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102-0360, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at psc.mo.gov.
