PSC Sets Intervention Deadline in
Missouri-American Water Company Case

JEFFERSON CITY---Missouri-American Water Company (MAWC) has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a certificate of convenience and necessity to install, own, operate, control, manage and maintain a water system in Benton County in a subdivision known as the Pom-Osa Heights Subdivision (Pom-Osa) near Warsaw, Missouri. According to the application, to provide service to the proposed area, MAWC proposes to purchase the water system from Pom-Osa.

The application states MAWC proposes to provide water service pursuant to the MAWC existing monthly current flat rate of $48.40 until such time as meters are installed. Upon the installation of meters, MAWC proposes to provide water service pursuant to the MAWC existing rates currently applicable to “Other Missouri” water rates.

Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than July 21, 2022, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102-0360, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at psc.mo.gov.

MAWC provides water service to approximately 474,000 customers in Missouri. It also provides sewer service to approximately 16,500 customers in the state. According to the application, Pom-Osa currently provides water service to approximately 60 residents.
