PSC Opens Investigation Into Terre Du Lac Utilities Corporation
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by the PSC Staff to open a case to investigate the operations, management and financial capabilities of Terre Du Lac Utilities Corporation, a company providing water and sewer service to approximately 1,260 residential customers in St. Francois and Washington counties.
The PSC Staff asked for a case to be opened in order to investigate, in more detail, the operations and financial capabilities of the water and sewer company. In its filing, the PSC Staff stated it does not have enough information at this time to support the filing of a formal complaint against the company. The PSC Staff believes that the opening of such a case will make it easier to review the company’s books and records to ensure that the company is providing safe and adequate service, that the health and safety of the residents is protected, and to determine whether Terre Du Lac Utilities Corporation’s earnings are adequate.
A copy of the Commission’s order opening an investigation into the operations, management and financial capabilities of the Terre Du Lac Utilities Corporation will be sent to the utility company, the Office of the Public Counsel, the Missouri Attorney General’s office and Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
