PSC Approves Timber Creek Sewer Company Request

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an application filed by the Timber Creek Sewer Company (Timber Creek) seeking a certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) to install, own, acquire, operate and maintain a sewer system in Clay County, as an expansion of its existing certificated area known as Johnson Ridge.

In a July 14, 2022 filing, the Public Service Commission Staff recommended the application be approved.

The Commission has approved the CCN determining: 1) There is a need for the service; 2) Timber Creek is qualified to provide the proposed service; 3) Timber Creek has the financial ability to provide the service; 4) Timber Creek’s proposal is economically feasible; and 5) The service promotes the public interest.

“Based on the application and Staff’s recommendations, the Commission concludes that the factors for granting a certificate of convenience and necessity to Timber Creek have been satisfied and that it is in the public’s interest for Timber Creek to provide sewer service to the area known as Johnson Ridge,” said the Commission. “Further, the Commission finds that Timber Creek possesses adequate technical, managerial, and financial capacity to operate the sewer system.”

Timber Creek provides sewer service to approximately 2,357 customers in Platte and Clay counties.
