PSC Approves Confluence Rivers Request to Purchase
the Port Perry Service Company

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by Confluence Rivers Utility Operating Company, Inc. (Confluence) to acquire the Port Perry Service Company water and sewer systems. The Commission determined the acquisition is not detrimental to the public interest. As part of its decision, the Commission granted Confluence certificates of convenience and necessity (CCNs) to operate the water and sewer systems.

The Commission granted the CCNs determining: 1) There is a need for the service; 2) Confluence is qualified to provide the proposed service; 3) Confluence has the financial ability to provide the service; 4) Confluence’s proposal is economically feasible; and 5) The service promotes the public interest.

“The Commission finds that Confluence has demonstrated that it possesses adequate technical, managerial, and financial capacity to own, operate, manage, and maintain the Port Perry water and sewer systems,” said the Commission.

Port Perry Service Company currently serves approximately 370 water customers and 248 sewer customers in Perry County near Perryville, Missouri.
