PSC Approves Confluence Rivers Request for CCN in Knox County
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.---
The Missouri Public Service Commission today approved an application filed by Confluence Rivers Utility Operating Company (Confluence Rivers) requesting authorization to provide sewer service to customers and acquire the sewer system assets of the current Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 1 (“Consolidated”) in Knox County, Missouri, specifically the Baring Area, Hurdland, and Newark wastewater facilities.
The Commission reviewed Confluence River’s application, the Staff of the Commission’s Recommendation and proposed conditions, and Confluence River’s response. Based on its review, the Commission concluded that the factors for granting a CCN to Confluence Rivers have been satisfied and that it is in the public interest for Confluence Rivers to provide sewer service to customers currently served by Consolidated.
The Commission granted Confluence Rivers a CCN to provide sewer services in the service areas associated with the Baring Area, Hurdland, and Newark wastewater facilities, subject to conditions.
Highlights of the Commission’s Order:
-
Confluence Rivers shall adopt the current $35 flat rate per month for Consolidated’s sewer service;
-
Confluence Rivers shall distribute an informational brochure to the newly acquired customers prior to the first billing from Confluence, which includes information about how to contact Confluence;
-
Confluence Rivers must ensure their staff are appropriately trained on the Knox County system and rates; and
-
Confluence Rivers must report customer experience data from Knox County customers to the Commission’s Customer Experience department as part of Confluence’s regular reporting requirements.
Confluence Rivers provides water service to approximately 6,500 customers and sewer service to approximately 7,400 customers in Missouri.
