PSC Approves Agreement Reached in Carl Richard Mills Water Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an agreement which reduces the annual water operating revenues for Carl Richard Mills by approximately $161.

When Carl Richard Mills filed a water rate case with the Public Service Commission on December 21, 2020, it sought to maintain its current annual water operating revenues and was not seeking to change customer rates.

Customers currently pay a flat quarterly water rate of $289.68 for water service. Under the agreement approved by the Commission, the quarterly water rate will be discontinued and the system will charge a monthly service charge of $68.31 and an additional charge of $6.3511 per 1,000 gallons of water used. A residential water customer using 4,000 gallons of water a month, will pay $93.71 for that amount of water. New water rates are expected to take effect on June 26, 2021.

The agreement approved by the Commission was submitted by Carl Richard Mills, the Public Service Commission Staff, the Office of the Public Counsel and Derald Morgan, an intervenor in the case.

Carl Richard Mills provides water service to seven customers in the Carriage Oaks Estates Subdivision in the Branson West area in Stone County.
