Lifeline & Disabled Programs
This program provides discounted phone service to qualifying low-income consumers. The program is administered in a partnership arrangement between the Federal Communications Commission and the Missouri Public Service Commission. Federal funding per Lifeline subscriber is $9.25 per month and is available to both landline and wireless companies with status as an Eligible Telecommunications Carrier. ETC status means the company meets certain criteria established by the FCC and Missouri Commission. Missouri funding provides an additional $6.50 per month per Lifeline subscriber to landline ETCs (thus total funding of $15.75).
