Vicinity Customers to see a Decrease in Steam Rates

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved tariffs filed by Vicinity Energy, Kansas City, Inc. (Vicinity) which change Vicinity’s Production Adjustment Cost Clause (PACC) rates for steam service.

Vicinity sought to adjust customer rates for changes in PACC production costs experienced between January and December 2023.

As a result of this filing, the PACC surcharge will drop from approximately $7.53 per Mlb (per 1,000 pounds of steam) to approximately $1.16 per Mlb, a reduction of approximately $6.37 per Mlb. The change is scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2024. The PACC appears as a separate line item on steam customer bills.

Vicinity Energy Kansas City, Inc. provides steam service to approximately 46 customers in Jackson County.
