PSC Approves Change in Steam Rates for Vicinity
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved tariffs filed by Vicinity Energy, Kansas City, Inc. (Vicinity) which change Vicinity’s Production Adjustment Cost Clause (PACC) rates for steam service.
The current PACC surcharge is $0.00 per million pounds of steam. As a result of this filing, the PACC surcharge will increase to $0.38 per million pounds of steam used. Vicinity stated the main driver of the PACC surcharge change was the increased cost of natural gas in 2021. The change is scheduled to take effect on June 19, 2022. The PACC appears as a separate line item on steam customer bills.
Vicinity Energy Kansas City, Inc. provides steam service to approximately 48 customers in Jackson County.
