Working Case Opened to Develop Statewide Best Practices
for Locating Quality Assurance
JEFFERSON CITY---Based upon a motion filed by the Public Service Commission Staff (Staff), the Missouri Public Service Commission has opened a working case to collect stakeholder comments and suggestions regarding locating practices to reduce the amount of pipeline damage in Missouri resulting from insufficient locating practices.
“At the end of the review, Staff will submit a final summary document to compile best practices for locating quality assurance,” said the Commission. “That document will be distributed to natural gas pipeline operators and will be made available through this case to other stakeholders and the public.”

The PSC Staff is undertaking this review pursuant to a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA).
As part of the review process, Staff will conduct a virtual workshop via WebEx for all interested stakeholders on June 17, 2021.
