PSC Sets Local Public Hearing Schedule in
Spire Missouri Natural Gas Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold six virtual local public hearings in June to receive customer comment in a natural gas rate case filed by Spire Missouri, Inc. (Spire). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these local public hearings will be conducted virtually by WebEx and telephone conference. They will be streamed live on the Commission’s website (psc.mo.gov).

To facilitate an orderly presentation that can be preserved for the record, members of the public who wish to participate in the question and answer session or make a comment to the Commission, need to register by sending their first and last name, phone number, email address and the hearing that they wish to attend to pscinfo@psc.mo.gov or by calling 1-800-392-4211 by 5 pm the day before the hearing.

To attend the public hearing by telephone, at the time of the hearing, call toll-free 1-855-718-6621, listen to the prompt and enter the meeting number (access code) set out below, followed by # (pound/hashtag symbol). If prompted for a password, enter 0108.

To participate by video/Internet, visit the website www.webex.com. You can also download the Cisco WebEx meetings application on your mobile device, laptop, desktop or tablet prior to the hearing and join the meeting at the hearing time by entering the corresponding access code and password listed below.

The Commission has scheduled six virtual local public hearings. Any person may comment at any of the hearings, but are encouraged to attend the hearing corresponding to the location nearest their service area for the most relevant information. Comments at the hearing will be limited to five minutes per person.

A PSC Staff conducted question and answer session will be held at the beginning of each local public hearing. The formal local public hearing will begin at the conclusion of the question and answer session. The local public hearing schedule appears below.

On December 11, 2020, Spire filed a natural gas rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a net increase in its base distribution rates of approximately $65 million.

According to Spire, the effect of the proposed rates on the Company’s residential customers would be to raise the bill of a typical heating customer (average natural gas usage of 63 therms a month) by an average of approximately $3.28 per month.

Spire provides natural gas service to approximately 1.17 million natural gas customers in the City of St. Louis as well as the Missouri counties of Andrew, Barry, Barton, Bates, Buchanan, Butler, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Christian, Clay, Clinton, Cooper, Crawford, Dade, DeKalb, Franklin, Greene, Henry, Howard, Iron, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Johnson, Lafayette, Lawrence, Madison, McDonald, Moniteau, Newton, Pettis, Platte, Ray, Saline, Stone, St. Charles, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, St. Louis, Vernon and Warren.
