PSC Sets Intervention Deadline In Proposed Natural Gas Sale Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has established the deadline for those wishing to intervene and participate in a case that will consider the proposed sale of Southern Union Company’s Missouri Gas Energy (MGE) division to Laclede Gas Company (Laclede).
The January 14, 2013, application asks the Commission to approve a sale in which Laclede Gas would acquire the entire franchise, works, and system of Southern Union’s Missouri Gas Energy operating division.  In addition, Laclede Gas seeks authority from the Commission to borrow up to $975 million to finance the transaction.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than February 13, 2013, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, or by using the Commission’s electronic filing and information service (EFIS).

Laclede Gas Company provides natural gas service to approximately 630,000 customers in Missouri.  MGE serves approximately 500,000 natural gas customers in Missouri.
