MEDIA REMINDER -- PSC To Hold Local Public Hearing In Butler In Liberty Utilities Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing in Butler, Missouri on July 7, 2014, in a natural gas rate case filed by Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corp. d/b/a Liberty Utilities.  The local public hearing schedule appears below.
July 7, 2014—Butler.  Bates County Museum, Robertson Hall, 802 Elks Drive.  A PSC staff public information/question and answer session starts at 6:00 p.m., with the taking of sworn statements to follow.
This local public hearing will be held in a facility that meets the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Any person who needs additional accommodations to participate in this hearing should call the Public Service Commission’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the hearing.
On February 6, 2014, Liberty Utilities filed a natural gas rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a general rate increase of approximately $6.3 million.  According to the company’s filing, the impact of the rate request on a typical residential customer in each of Liberty Utilities’ three service areas appears below.

Liberty Utilities (formerly Atmos Energy Corporation) serves approximately 56,000 natural gas customers in Missouri.  The WEMO service area includes the Missouri counties of Bates, Cass, Henry and St. Clair.  The SEMO service area includes the counties of Butler, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Iron, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne.  The NEMO service area includes the counties of Adair, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Macon, Marion, Pike, Ralls, Schuyler and Scotland.
