Infrastructure Surcharge to Change for Liberty Natural Gas Customers

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a change in the infrastructure system replacement surcharge (ISRS) for Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corp. d/b/a Liberty Utilities (Liberty). The ISRS first appeared on customer bills in November 2008.

The ISRS adjustment reflects infrastructure replacement investments made by the natural gas company from November 1, 2020 through October 31, 2021. These costs for natural gas pipeline replacements and relocations are not currently included in Liberty’s rates.

The current ISRS for residential customers in Liberty’s Northeast (NEMO) and West (WEMO) Districts is $1.00 a month. As a result of this case, the ISRS for a residential natural gas customer in Liberty’s NEMO and WEMO Districts will be $1.11 a month. The current ISRS for residential customers in Liberty’s Southeast (SEMO) District is $0.45 a month. As a result of this case, the ISRS for a SEMO District residential customer will be $1.18 a month. Liberty has been authorized to file tariffs reflecting the Commission’s decision. Those tariffs will include a proposed effective date for the ISRS change.

Liberty serves approximately 52,780 natural gas customers in Missouri. The NEMO service area includes the counties of Adair, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Macon, Marion, Pike, Ralls, Schuyler and Scotland. The WEMO service area includes the counties of Bates, Cass, Henry and St. Clair. The SEMO service area includes the counties of Butler, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Iron, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne.
