Workskop Planned For July 17

Workshop to Consolidate and Simplify Commission’s Telecommunications Rules

Case No. TW-2014-0295
A workshop is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 10:00 am to noon in order to discuss a draft rulemaking to consolidate and simplify the Missouri Public Service Commission’s rules applicable to companies providing telecommunications and/or interconnected Voice over the Internet Protocol (IVoIP) services.  The rulemaking proposes to eliminate many existing rules as well as consolidate and simplify other remaining rules applicable to these companies.  The workshop’s purpose is for the Missouri Commission Staff to solicit initial feedback about the rulemaking before presenting the matter to the Missouri Commission for formal consideration.
The workshop will be held in Conference Room 315 within the Governor Office Building located at 200 Madison Street in Jefferson City, Missouri.  Workshop participants are encouraged to attend in-person; however, the workshop can be accessed via phone by calling 526-5904 (local) or 866-630-9352.
Drafts of the rulemaking as well as the workshop’s agenda are filed within the Missouri Commission’s Electronic Filing Information System -- Case No. TW-2014-2295 [1]
Note:  This rulemaking is in the very early stages of the rulemaking process.  If the Missouri Commission ultimately decides to proceed with the rulemaking then the rulemaking will eventually follow the formal rulemaking process.  Therefore parties will have additional opportunities to provide feedback before the Missouri Commission makes any decisions regarding these rules.
