PSC To Hold Community Resource And Energy Fair In Independence
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission and several community organizations will be hosting a “Community Resource and Energy Fair” on Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Independence, Missouri. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Mid-Continent Public Library, North Independence Branch, in Program Rooms 1 & 2. The library is located at 317 West 24 Highway.
The “Community Resource and Energy Fair” is designed to help provide consumers with information and tools needed to help make informed choices about: utility services, utility payment assistance, weatherization, housing, health and senior services and other resources that are available in the community.
“We are excited about the opportunity to meet with customers in the Kansas City and Independence area and talk about the various ways they can reduce their energy usage, which can have an impact on their utility bills,” said Public Service Commission Chairman Robert Kenney. “There will be several area organizations involved in the event and it will be a ‘one-stop shop’ type of setting for consumers.”
