PSC Sets Intervention Deadline in Liberty Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Empire District Electric Company, The Empire District Gas Company, Liberty Utilities (Missouri Water), LLC and Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corp. (Liberty) have filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking Accounting Authority Orders (AAO) permitting them to track and defer in regulatory assets all incremental costs and other financial impacts specifically including lost revenues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than October 7, 2020, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102-0360, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov.

The Empire District Electric Company serves approximately 155,426 electric customers in Missouri. The Empire District Gas Company serves approximately 43,000 natural gas customers in the state. Liberty Utilities (Missouri Water) LLC serves approximately 8,000 water and/or sewer customers in Missouri while Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corp. provides service to approximately 55,000 natural gas customers in the state.
