PSC Sets Intervention Deadline
For Evergy Depreciation Authority Order Request
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. --- The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) has set an intervention deadline of February 20, 2026, for Evergy Missouri Metro and Evergy Missouri West’s (collectively “Evergy”) application for a depreciation authority order establishing depreciation rates to depreciate certain accounts.
On January 29, 2026, Evergy filed an application requesting the Commission to authorize depreciation rates for existing plant utility accounts that will be transferred to new plant utility accounts due to the implementation of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Order 898, which updates the Uniform System of Accounts for certain categories of assets including solar and wind generation, energy storage, environmental credits and computer hardware, software and communications equipment. Evergy has also requested authorization for four new depreciation/amortization rates.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Mo. 65102-0360, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at psc.mo.gov.
