PSC Orders Intervention Deadline in
Evergy Metro Fuel Rate Adjustment Filing
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.---The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) today set an intervention deadline of
August 21, 2025, for Evergy Metro, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri Metro (Evergy) request for a revision in its fuel adjustment rate clause.
On July 31, 2025, Evergy submitted direct testimony and a tariff sheet proposing a revised fuel adjustment rate, with an effective date of October 1. Also, on July 31, Evergy initiated a rate adjustment true-up, to be included in the proposed fuel adjustment rate. PSC rules provide a 60-day timeline for resolution of these rate adjustment mechanism proceedings.
Under the filing, the proposed FAC charge for Evergy Metro Missouri residential customers is $0.00101 per kilowatt hour (kWh). Based on usage of 1,000 kWh per month, the customer will see a monthly charge of $1.01, a decrease from the current monthly FAC charge of $1.32.
Parties to Evergy’s most recent general rate proceeding — Case No. ER-2024-0189 — are automatically parties to these proceedings without application. Others wanting to intervene need to meet the August 21 deadline.
