PSC Approves GridLiance High Plains Request
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has granted a certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) to GridLiance High Plains LLC, f/k/a South Central MCN LLC (GridLiance) which authorizes GridLiance to construct, own, install and maintain certain Southwest Power Pool mandated network upgrades to an approximately 1.25 mile-long 69 kilovolt (kV) electric transmission line in Christian County.
On December 5, 2018, the Public Service Commission Staff (Staff) filed its recommendation. Staff recommended that the Commission grant the certificate, subject to the condition that GridLiance will file plans and specifications for the complete construction project with the Commission before the authority to construct under the CCN is exercised.
The Commission granted a CCN determining: 1) There was a need for the service; 2) GridLiance is qualified to provide the proposed service; 3) GridLiance has the financial ability to provide the service; 4) GridLiance’s proposal is economically feasible; and 5) The service promotes the public interest.
“Based on the verified application and the verified recommendation of Staff, the Commission finds the application for a certificate of convenience and necessity to provide electrical service meets the above criteria. The application will be granted,” said the Commission.
