PSC Approves Electric Territorial Agreement
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a joint application filed The Empire District Electric Company (Empire) and Ozark Electric Cooperative (Ozark) which sought Commission approval of a third territorial agreement between Empire and Ozark.
According to the joint application, the third territorial agreement would allow Ozark to provide service to an electronic sign on a small tract of land within the city limits of Ozark, Missouri. The agreement does not require the transfer of any facilities or customers between Empire and Ozark. In addition, the agreement allows the parties to maximize the use of their respective facilities and avoid duplicative facilities, while still providing the requested electric service to the new sign.
“The Commission concludes that the Agreement’s service area designation is in the public interest and that the Agreement in total is not detrimental to the public interest,” said the Commission.
