PSC Approves Electric Territorial Agreement

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an electric territorial agreement between Osage Valley Electric Cooperative Association (Osage Valley) and the City of Harrisonville, Missouri (Harrisonville), which concerns a service area within Harrisonville and Cass County. Subject to the terms of the agreement, the applicants state they have specifically designated the boundaries of the exclusive service area of each electric service provider for service to new structures in portions of Cass County.

According to the application, the impetus for the agreement is a request by the Missouri Department of Transportation to serve new facilities to be installed within the city limits of Harrisonville. Harrisonville sought to have Osage Valley provide electric service to those facilities because Osage Valley has facilities in the area, and doing so would prevent duplication of services.

The Commission approved the territorial agreement stating the agreement as a whole is not detrimental to the public interest.
