PSC Approves Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois Request
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an application filed by Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI) which sought a certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) to operate and maintain interconnection facilities in Schuyler County. According to the application, the facilities generally consist of a switchyard (the Hughes switching station) connecting the High Prairie Wind Generation Facility with ATXI’s Mark Twain Transmission Line.
In a filing with the Commission on January 19, 2021, the Public Service Commission Staff recommended the application be approved.
The Commission granted the CCN determining: 1) There is a need for the service; 2) ATXI is qualified to provide the proposed service; 3) ATXI has the financial ability to provide the service; 4) ATXI’s proposal is economically feasible; and 5) The service promotes the public interest.
“Based on the verified pleadings and Staff’s recommendation, the Commission finds the application for a certificate of convenience and necessity to operate and maintain the Hughes Switchyard meets the stated criteria and is necessary and convenient for the public service,” said the Commission. “The Commission will grant the application.”
