PSC Approves Ameren Missouri Vanduser Switching Station CCN Request

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.--- The Missouri Public Service Commission today has approved an application for a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) filed by Union Electric Company d/b/a Ameren Missouri. The CCN requested authorization for Ameren Missouri to construct, install, own, operate maintain, and otherwise control and manage a project known as the Vanduser Switching Station in Stoddard County, Missouri, to interconnect a generating plant with the Missouri transmission grid.

The Commission reviewed the application as well as filed testimony and recommendations from the parties in the case. It carefully considered multiple factors including those associated with Ameren Missouri’s 2023 Integrated Resource Plan, its qualifications to provide the service and to finance the service, as well as requirements associated with the Federal Energy Commission (FERC) Order No. 888 impacting factors related to the project’s economic feasibility and public interest. Under FERC Order 888, Ameren Missouri is required to provide non-discriminatory access to its transmission system, which includes interconnecting this Interconnection Customer to its transmission system. In this case, costs associated with that interconnection are covered by the customer. Therefore, the Commission issued its decision to approve Ameren Missouri’s request for a CCN.

Ameren Missouri provides electric service to approximately 1.3 million customers in Missouri.
