PSC Approves Agreement in Evergy Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an agreement which grants Evergy Metro, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri Metro and Evergy Missouri West, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri West (Evergy) a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity to construct, install, own, operate, maintain and manage an electrical solar production facility at the Hawthorn Generating Station in Evergy Missouri Metro’s service area in Kansas City, Missouri.

The agreement approved by the Commission was submitted by Evergy, the Public Service Commission Staff, the Office of the Public Counsel and Renew Missouri Advocates d/b/a Renew Missouri. The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency that represents the general public in matters before the Public Service Commission.

“After reviewing the Agreement, the Commission finds that it is a reasonable resolution of the issues contained therein and should be approved,” said the Commission.

Evergy Missouri Metro serves approximately 292,700 electric customers in the Missouri counties of Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Clay, Howard, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Pettis, Platte, Randolph and Saline. Evergy Missouri West provides electric service to approximately 347,400 customers in the Missouri counties of Andrew, Atchison, Barton, Bates, Benton, Buchanan, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Clay, Clinton, Dade, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Henry, Holt, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Pettis, Platte, Ray, St. Clair, Vernon and Worth.
