PSC Approves Addendum to Electric Territorial Agreement

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a joint application filed by the Lewis County Electric Cooperative Association and Union Electric Company d/b/a Ameren Missouri seeking Commission approval of an addendum to a territorial agreement between the two electric providers. The addendum concerns exclusive electric service areas within Scotland County.

The addendum will incorporate into the Lewis County Electric Cooperative Association’s territory in Scotland County, a five acre parcel that is within Ameren Missouri’s service territory. Lewis County Electric Cooperative Association has existing facilities installed on the parcel identified in the addendum capable of providing the level of electric service that is anticipated and/or requested, which would prevent an unnecessary duplication of facilities. The addendum does not require the transfer of any facilities or customers between the two electric providers.

“It is the Commission’s decision that the Addendum is in the public interest as a whole and is not detrimental to the public interest,” said the Commission.

The original territorial agreement between the Lewis County Electric Cooperative Association and Ameren Missouri was approved by the Public Service Commission in an order issued on July 21, 2000 (Case No. EO-2000-630).
