ORDER TO DELIVER NOTICE OF RATE INCREASE

The Missouri Public Service Commission is ordering delivery of the notice required by Section 393.275.1.[1] That statute requires the Commission, for each city or county imposing a business license tax on gross receipts of any gas, electric, water, or sewer corporation to notify the governing body of any rate increase over seven percent approved for that utility corporation. The statute requires the Commission to notify those bodies of:
. . . the percentage increase approved for the utility, together with an estimate of the annual increase in gross receipts resulting from the tariff increase on customers residing in that city or county.
That notice is attached to this order. Section 393.275.2 also requires the taxing authority to take certain actions with regard to its gross receipts tax rates, but does not require any further review or action by the Commission. Therefore, the Commission will order delivery of the attached notice.
THE
COMMISSION ORDERS THAT:
1.
The Commission’s Data Center shall mail a copy
of this order to the governing body of each city or county identified in the
attached notice.
2. This order shall be effective when issued.

Please be advised that the Missouri Public
Service Commission has authorized a general rate increase for In the
Matter of Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corp. d/b/a Liberty
Utilities’ Tariff effective December 22, 2014.
The Commission is providing this notification in accordance with Section 393.275,
RSMo, which requires notification to taxing authorities when any such increase
exceeds seven percent.
The rate increase
approved represents a 7.05% percent increase for Liberty Utilities’ SEMO
district. The below table represents the
estimated increase in franchise fees for each municipality in the SEMO district
due to the rate increase.
