FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- JULY 30, 2008

JEFFERSON CITY -- The staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission has completed a draft Video Service Report.  This report is mandated by the 2007 Video Services Providers Act (SB 284) that was approved by the Missouri General Assembly.   The report is intended to describe developments resulting from the implementation of the act.  The report is to be submitted August 28, 2008 and annually thereafter for the next three years.  According to the act, the PSC is expected to receive comments from members of the public in preparing this report.

The PSC’s jurisdiction of video service in Missouri is solely limited to issuing video service franchises in political subdivisions such as cities, towns and counties. The PSC has no authority over video service providers concerning rates, billing disputes or quality of service issues.
