FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- NOVEMBER 22, 2011
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an addendum to an existing territorial agreement between Union Electric Company d/b/a Ameren Missouri and Cuivre River Electric Cooperative. A joint application was filed with the Commission on September 27, 2011.
Approval of the addendum between the two electric service providers will allow a residence and a shop building currently under construction on Carter Road in Moscow Mills, Missouri, to receive electric service from Ameren Missouri even though both structures are located within Cuivre River Electric Cooperative’s exclusive service area.
On October 25, 2011, the PSC staff filed its recommendation in support of the application.
The Commission approved the application finding that approval of the addendum was not detrimental to the public interest. The Commission noted that Ameren Missouri can serve the structures more economically and practically than Cuivre River Electric Cooperative because Cuivre River Electric Cooperative’s facilities are farther than Ameren Missouri’s facilities.
Previously, the Commission approved territorial agreements between Cuivre River Electric Cooperative and Ameren Missouri which designated the exclusive service areas for each for new structures in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties.
