FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- NOVEMBER 10, 2011
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an addendum to an existing territorial agreement between Union Electric Company d/b/a Ameren Missouri and Cuivre River Electric Cooperative. A joint application was filed with the Commission on September 19, 2011.
Approval of the addendum between the two electric service providers will allow a mobile home located on Snyder Road near Troy, Missouri and a barn currently under construction at the same location, to receive electric service from Cuivre River Electric Cooperative even though both structures are located within Ameren Missouri’s exclusive service area.
On October 25, 2011, the PSC staff filed its recommendation in support of the application.
The Commission approved the application finding that approval of the addendum was not detrimental to the public interest. The Commission noted that Cuivre River Electric Cooperative can serve the structures more economically and practically than Ameren Missouri because Ameren Missouri’s service would require duplication of existing facilities while Cuivre River Electric Cooperative’s service requires only a minor extension of facilities.
Previously, the Commission approved territorial agreements between Cuivre River Electric Cooperative and Ameren Missouri which designated the exclusive service areas for each for new structures in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties.
