JEFFERSON CITY—KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking Commission authority and a certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct, own and operate an electrical production facility and related facilities in or near St. Joseph, Missouri.
According to the company’s application, KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company seeks a certificate for a new electrical production facility to be built near St. Joseph, which will be fueled with a renewable source of energy, specifically, landfill gas from the City of St. Joseph landfill. The proposed electric production facility will be located on a tract of land adjacent to the landfill.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than January 7, 2011, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102.
