PR-11-47 -- PSC Schedules An Additional Local Public Hearing In Kansas City Power & Light Company Electric Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold another local public hearing in Kansas City to receive customer comment in an electric rate case filed by the Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCPL). Testimony will also be taken from customers of KCP&L-Greater Missouri Operations Company which also has an electric rate case before the PSC. The local public hearing schedule appears below.
December 2—Kansas City. Hillcrest Community Center, Meeting Room A, 10401 Hillcrest Road. A PSC staff public information/question and answer session starts at 5:30 p.m. with the local public hearing and the taking of sworn testimony to follow.
This local public hearing will be held in a facility that meets the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. In addition to the Kansas City local public hearing on December 2, the Commission will hold local public hearings in Nevada (November 30), St. Joseph (December 6), two in Kansas City (December 7), Riverside (December 8), Lee’s Summit (December 8), Sedalia (December 9) and Carrollton (December 13) in this case.
On June 4, 2010, KCPL filed an electric rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission stating it was seeking to increase annual electric operating revenues by approximately $92.1 million. According to KCPL, a typical residential customer would see an increase of less than $13 a month under the company’s request.
KCPL serves approximately 271,000 electric customers in 13 western Missouri counties.
