PR-11-17 -- PSC Sets Intervention Deadline In Electric Territorial Agreement Case

Contact: Kevin Kelly (573) 751-9300

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- AUGUST 12, 2011

JEFFERSON CITY—Black River Electric Cooperative and the City of Fredericktown have filed a joint application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking Commission approval of a territorial agreement which establishes the service areas for each in Madison County.

According to the application, the territorial agreement does not require the transfer of any facilities or customers.  The application states the territorial agreement is in the public interest because the agreement will eliminate or reduce duplication of facilities, reduce the waste of resources and customer costs.  The proposed territorial agreement, according to the application, will allow the City of Fredericktown, Black River Electric Cooperative and customers within the area to know with certainty the supplier of their electric service.

Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than August 25, 2011, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102 or by using the Commission’s electronic filing and information service www.psc.mo.gov .
