FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- AUGUST 4, 2010
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold hearings in September in a request filed by Union Electric Company d/b/a AmerenUE which seeks Commission authority to sell and transfer portions of its electric distribution system to St. James Municipal Utilities (St. James) and Rolla Municipal Utilities (Rolla). St. James and Rolla are wholesale customers of AmerenUE.
Hearings are scheduled for September 8-9, 2010 in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building (200 Madison Street) in Jefferson City.
The Governor Office Building meets accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. If any person needs additional accommodations to participate in the hearings, please call the Public Service Commission’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 prior to the hearings.
AmerenUE states in its application that the proposed sale of the Phelps Substation with associated distribution facilities and equipment will not be detrimental to the public interest because the sale will not result in any reduced level of service or reliability to any retail customer of AmerenUE, and the sale is being made at the request of the two wholesale customers that currently take wholesale service from the substation at issue. The application further states that Rolla and St. James will integrate the Phelps Substation and associated equipment with their electric operations in Missouri.
