FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- MARCH 10, 2011
JEFFERSON CITY---A provision in the Missouri Public Service Commission’s renewable energy standards rule requires Missouri’s electric utilities to file a Renewable Energy Standard (RES) Compliance Plan on April 15 of each year. Since the rule became effective in September 2010, Ameren Missouri, Kansas City Power & Light Company, The Empire District Electric Company and KCP&L-Greater Missouri Operations Company must file their first compliance plans on April 15, 2011.
The Missouri Public Service Commission has opened files for each company to receive their plan and for any comments or responsive documents that may be filed before or after each company files its plan.
Using the files, any person with an interest in these matters may view documents regarding the RES compliance plans and may submit pertinent responsive comments or documents. Since this is not a contested case, any person may file a comment without counsel and without ex parte constraints. Intervention requests are not necessary to submit comments or to view documents.
The public is welcome to send comments by submitting electronic comments at the Commission’s website https://www.efis.psc.mo.gov/mpsc/Docket.asp?caseno=EO-2011-0276 (Click on the EFIS/Case filings link on the left side of the page.
