JEFFERSON CITY---Union Electric Company d/b/a AmerenUE has asked the Missouri Public Service Commission to grant it variances from certain requirements of the Commission’s Electric Utility Resource Planning Rules. AmerenUE is expected to file in compliance with the rules in February 2011.
The purpose of Resource Planning Rules is to require Missouri’s investor-owned electric utilities to undertake an adequate planning process to ensure that the public interest in a reasonably priced, reliable and efficient energy supply is protected.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than March 21, 2010, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102. Copies of the application should be sent to: Wendy K. Tatro, Associate General Counsel, Ameren Services Company, P.O. Box 66149, St. Louis, Missouri 63166-6149; and the Office of the Public Counsel, P.O. Box 2230, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102.
The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency that represents the general public in matters before the Commission.
AmerenUE provides electric service to approximately 1.2 million customers in Missouri.
