PR-09-44 -- PSC APPROVES ELECTRIC TERRITORIAL AGREEMENT

Contact: Kevin Kelly

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- SEPTEMBER 11, 2008

JEFFERSON CITY-The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an electric territorial agreement between Grundy Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Grundy) and the City of Trenton (Trenton).

The agreement designates the respective service areas of the two electric service suppliers in an area annexed by the city.  The agreement also reflects an exchange of two tracts of land between Grundy and Trenton.  It also allows Grundy Electric Cooperative, Inc. to serve itself.

Based upon a review of the evidence in this case, the commission finds that the territorial agreement will allow Grundy Electric Cooperative, Inc. and the City of Trenton to avoid wasteful duplication of electric services within the affected service area.  In addition the agreement will allow customers to know with certainty the supplier of their electric service.
