JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing in Lee’s Summit on March 2, 2009 to receive customer comment on an electric rate case filed by KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company (formerly Aquila, Inc.). The local public hearing will also give consumers an opportunity to bring any service related issues to the commission’s attention. The local public hearing schedule appears below.

6:00 p.m. Local public hearing begins. The hearing will conclude when every person who wishes to testify has done so.
This local public hearing will be held in a building that meets accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. On September 5, 2008, KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company filed an electric rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission. The company seeks to increase annual electric revenues by approximately $66 million in the area formerly served by Aquila Networks-MPS (for a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, the proposed increase would be approximately $12.50 a month). The company seeks to increase annual electric revenues by approximately $17 million in the area formerly served by Aquila Networks-L&P (for a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, the proposed increase would be approximately $10.00 a month).
KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company provides electric service to approximately 300,000 customers in Missouri.
