Contact: Kevin Kelly (573) 751-9300
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- JULY 7, 2008
JEFFERSON CITY—Grundy Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Grundy) and the City of Trenton (Trenton) have filed a joint application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking commission approval of an electric territorial agreement between the two entities.
The proposed territorial agreement establishes Grundy as the exclusive electric service supplier within a tract of land that has been annexed into the City of Trenton. The only customer currently served on this tract of land is Grundy. Under the territorial agreement, Grundy would be allowed to serve itself and any other future customers on that tract of land.
The joint applicants state the establishment of this exclusive service territory for Grundy within the corporate limits of Trenton will prevent future duplication of electric service facilities and will also allow electric service customers within the area to know with certainty the supplier of their electric service.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than July 23, 2008, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102. Copies of the application should be sent to: Rodric A. Widger, Andereck, Evans, Milne, Widger & Johnson, L.L.C., 3816 S. Greystone Court, Suite B, Springfield, Missouri 65804; and the Office of the Public Counsel, P.O. Box 2230, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102-2230.
The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency which represents the general public in matters before the commission. Individual citizens wishing to comment should contact either the Office of the Public Counsel (Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, Suite 650, P.O. Box 2230, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102-2230, telephone (866) 922-2959, e-mail opcservice@ded.mo.gov) or the Public Service Commission staff (P.O.
