PR-08-37 -- PSC Sets Intervention Deadline in Empire Electric Resource Plan Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has established the deadline for those wishing to intervene and participate in the review of the process used to develop the Electric Utility Resource Plan filed by The Empire District Electric Company (Empire). Under Commission rules, all electric utilities under PSC jurisdiction are required to file such plans.
The purpose of Resource Planning rules is to require Missouri’s electric utilities to undertake an adequate planning process to ensure that the public interest in a reasonably priced, reliable and efficient energy supply is protected.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than October 3, 2007, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102. Copies of the application should be sent to: Dean L. Cooper, Brydon, Swearengen & England P.C., 312 E. Capitol Avenue, P.O.
