PR-08-27 -- Media Reminder: PSC To Hold Two Local Public Hearings In Kansas City Power & Light Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold two local public hearings in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 22, 2007, to receive customer comments on an electric rate case filed by Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCPL). These local public hearings will also give customers an opportunity to bring any service related issues to the Commission’s attention.

*Informal question and answer session begins. The local public hearing starts approximately 30 minutes later and will conclude when the last witness has testified.

KCPL filed its rate request with the Missouri Public Service Commission on February 1, 2007. According to its press release, KCPL is seeking to increase annual electric revenues by approximately $45 million (8.3%). KCPL states a typical Missouri residential customer would see electric rates increased by approximately $6.00 a month under the Company’s proposal.
KCPL serves approximately 271,000 electric customers in western Missouri.
