FY-10-08 -- PSC Approves Addendum to Electric Territorial Agreement

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by The Empire District Electric Company (Empire) and White River Valley Electric Cooperative (White River) regarding an addendum to a territorial agreement.

The addendum allows White River to provide electric service to a single lot that is currently situated in Empire’s service territory. The lot is located in Lake Taneycomo Acres in Branson. The addendum to the territorial agreement will not require the transfer of any facilities or customers.

In a filing on June 29, 2009, the staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission recommended the joint application be approved.

The Commission noted in its order approving the application that it is in the public interest to allow White River to serve the lot as this is the safest and most efficient means of providing service to the lot, despite its current location within Empire’s service territory.
