Working In Joplin To Ensure Safety

The Missouri Public Service Commission’s Manufactured Housing and Modular Units Department is working in Joplin with United States Corp of Engineers and Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) contractors to ensure FEMA housing units and modular classrooms, which will be used to house displaced homeowners and students, are in compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards and are installed and anchored properly.  It is estimated that over 500 families will occupy the housing units and up to 4,000 students may occupy the modular classrooms.
