PSC Approves Agreements Reached In Terre Du Lac Water and Sewer Rate Cases

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved agreements which authorize Terre Du Lac Utilities Corporation to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $43,320 and annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $53,717 for service on and after September 1, 2014.  The rate increases are designed to recover the company’s cost of service.
On October 21, 2013, Terre Du Lac Utilities Corporation filed rate cases with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $32,745 and annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $39,300.
The agreements approved by the Commission were submitted by the Staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission and Terre Du Lac Utilities Corporation.  The Office of the Public Counsel did not join in the agreements but did not oppose the agreements.  The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency which represents the general public in cases before the Public Service Commission.
For a residential customer using 4,500 gallons of water a month, the agreements approved by the Commission will increase the monthly water bill from $14.77 to $17.61 a month.  Under the agreements approved, sewer bills for residential customers will increase from $15.83 a month to $19.41 a month.
Terre Du Lac Utilities Corporation provides water service to approximately 1,286 customers and sewer service to approximately 1,245 customers in St. Francois and Washington counties.
